Minions the movie

When the McD's minion craze went off, I stayed away from it. I was never one to chase the movies or go crazy about the little yellow people and the closest I got to a minion was watching Despicable Me with a friend and the banana pie from McDs.

I decided to see what the craze was about when I went for the Minions movie.

I thought it was cute and I did chuckle a few times but overall it was just okay. The animation was beautiful but the storyline was a little choppy and all over the place.

One of my favorite character in the movie was the villain herself - Scarlet Overkill.

I'm so used to ugly villain (cue Ursula from Little Mermaid).. but Scarlet was different with her pretty pink dress.

Would I watch it again? Probably.

Rating : 6/10

Review : Manila the Board Game

The other game we tried lately was Manila - the board game.

This game involved a little bit of strategy and luck. I love the aesthetics and the props. The game play is longer and it plays up to 5 players.

There's a component of 4 different shares - ginseng, coffee, silk and jade. Each one has a dice of its own color. There's 3 punts to carry these goods.

Each players gets 4 accomplices and 30 pesos to start. The coins are awesomely done, it's real physical 3D coins - unlike flat paper coins.

I would recommend this game but since we played it too many times lately, I would put this on the shelf for a little while.

I would rate this 4/5.

Review : Chicken Cha Cha Cha

I'm a person who likes visually attractive items. I got this new game which actually is catered for younger children.

This game plays 4 people and I lost a couple of times since this is a memory game and my memory is quite bad. I'm scattered and I forgot where the tiles were.

Basically the game has 24 egg like tiles face up outside and 12 octagon tiles face down inside. 1 of the inside tile matched 2 egg tiles outside. The game started with 4 chickens sitting in equal tile distance from each other.

The purpose of the game is to match the egg tile in front of your chicken to the inner tile and if you succeed, you get to move your chicken forward and take another turn.

Now, the most interesting part of this game comes from the chicken butt - there's 4 holes behind each chicken. 1 for the chicken's own tail and 3 other to steal other chicken's tails. When you reach another chicken and manage to jump over them, you get their tail. Tailless chicken can still play and has the opportunity to get back their tail.

The game ends when one chicken caught all 3 tails.

Interesting to play for a quick game. It requires full concentration as other people might open up the tile you just might need for your next egg.

I rate this 3/5.

Aesthetically interesting and beautiful with a nice twist to the original memory type of game but it gets boring pretty fast.

Listening to Trisha

I think she was on my recommended to watch on my youtube so I clicked on one of her videos and I was hooked. I listened to her while I cleaned my room.

Trisha Paytas.

I'm conflicted about her.

I listened to her rant videos and I love it. It felt like listening to a girl friend talking and bitching although she talked really fast and in high squeaky voice.

I like her videos about loving yourself and confidence in portraying herself. I love her don't care attitude. It's something that I need to improve on myself as well and she's really inspiring when she goes on these self love rants.

On the other hand, I don't agree with her lifestyle choices. Personally, the fake tanning and the breast enlargement were not needed because I think Trisha is already beautiful as she is.

It doesn't stop me from listening to her rants though since I'm not that interested in her beauty videos. There's just something to learn from everyone.

My little food review

I've been eating a lot lately and I'm not the best food reviewer but I just want to share my impression of some of the dishes I had.

Pasta Zanmai's mini set :- I ordered a pasta and a mini pizza thing. The pasta was normal - averagely pasta. The pizza however was harder to eat as it has runny egg. The taste was also average but I dislike runny egg so this will not be a repeat order for me.

We also ordered these little ice cream rolls. Two different flavors - green tea and chocolate.

The chocolate was sweet and just nice but the green tea was a little bitter and doesn't have a strong taste as the chocolate. I can't pick my favorite because both of them are different and delicious. On second thought, I prefer the green tea - I don't like food that are too sweet.

Milkshake factory - Chocolate milkshake with chicken burrito.

When the burrito came flat, I was disappointed. This is my first flat burrito and because it's flat, it looks like half the burrito I knew. Barely tasted it and I finished. Meh.

Nachoes was alright although I would have preferred extra condiments to add on since the bottom pieces are bare.

This sandwich from the food court was just .. edible. For the price paid, I expected something more exciting, something that make my taste buds rejoice but it was just .. flat. Nothing special. Banana pie was delicious, I dislike the regular apple pie for it is too sweet but this one - nice.

Ma po tofu don set from food court. I love Japanese rice and tofu so when combined, oh yum. This is definitely value for money and I would love to have it again.

That's it for now.
